Mission    

Providing College of Computer Science
faculty with the necessary tools to facilitate navigation towards excellence

     Objectives: 

  1. To introduce new faculty to the college policies in course teaching i.e Policy and Regulation Awareness
  2. A distinguished mentoring program that supports faculty to realize his/her potential as an educator, researcher and innovator. 
  3. To helps newly joined faculty in creating course files, how to employ resources to enrich their teaching, and finally measuring course outcomes
  4. Assure faculty support during the semester for fulfilling the course teaching requirement

New Faculty Orientation Program

The New Faculty Orientation Program is a comprehensive program welcoming and orienting new faculty members into the College of Computer Science. The program is designed to introduce new faculty members from all departments of the College to the rules and regulations and equip them through workshops and mentoring with the necessary tools to become successful academicians. 

This program has a profound impact on the continued outstanding performance and the effective role played by members of the teaching staff in the educational process. The program is organized by the Faculty Support and Development Unit under the supervision of the Vice  Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the generous patronage of HE the Dean of the College. The orientation focuses on five key success factors for new faculty:

  • Introduction to faculty rights and obligation
  • Students' rights and obligations
  • Quality of programs and academic accreditation
  • Learning resources at College of Computer Science and King Khalid University
  • Scientific research programs at at College of Computer Science and  King Khalid University

Goals:

  • Familiarize new faculty members with the College and University vision, mission, its organizational structure, its policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate new faculty’s adjustments to the academic environment of the university and college.
  • Enable new faculty members to get a better understanding of their rights and obligations.
  • Provide new faculty members with detailed information about the university facilities and services.
