University Hosts Tuwaiq Coding Bootcamp
King Khalid University's College of Computer Science is currently hosting the "Tuwaiq" Coding Bootcamp and Games Programming Course in collaboration with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity and Drones (SAFCSP) from December 10th to December 14th 2019. The event is designed to develop technical and programming skills and is targeted specifically towards students age 9 to 18. The bootcamp trainers are expert programmers in fields such as robotics and game development. The training program is being held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. each day.
College of Computer Science Dean, Dr. Ali Mohammed Algarwi, highlighted that the department was pleased to host the event. He also noted that developing computer programming skills among the citizenry is a vital part of the national development plan and a stated goal of Vision 2030 and its appendant documents. Dean Algarwi expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy and SAFCSP for their support of the event.
The bootcamp is limited to 150 students, and there has been significant overflow demand by students from all over the region.
