University Boosts Programming Skills With Ramdan Python Bootcamp

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Computer Science, launched the Ramadan Python Bootcamp as part of its contribution to the Mobaderoon project. The Ramadan Python Bootcamp is also part of King Khalid University's Coding Project to develop and enhance coding skills.

Dean of the College of Computer Science, Dr. Ali Mohammed Algarwi, explained that the Bootcamp is designed to develop technical and programming skills and is open to high school-aged students of university faculty members and staff. The bootcamp trainers are expert programmers in a wide variety of fields utilizing Python. The training program began on the 4th of Ramadan and will end on the 20th of Ramdan.

Dean Algarwi highlighted that the bootcamp is a unique offering and that the College of Computer Science was pleased to host the event. He also noted that developing computer programming skills among the citizenry is a vital part of the national development plan and a stated goal of Vision 2030 and its appendant documents. Dean Algarwi expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy for his support of the event.

Dean Algarwi highlighted that the goals of the camps are in line with the three main themes of Vision 2030: a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation, noting that the Ramadan Python Bootcamp enforces these themes by investing in the development of the human capital. By discovering nascent talents and providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a competitive labor market, the College of Computer Science is playing its role in working towards a thriving economy for a vibrant society in an ambitious nation.

It is worth mentioning that the outcomes of the camp are expected to deliver junior programmers capable of creating a program from a series of simple instructions in Python, writing programs to solve simple and complex mathematical problems, the ability to program small projects including games, and handling errors that may occur in the program, as well as the ability to download and install multiple Python libraries.
