The department formed a committee named "Department Alumni Committee" to establish a strong relationship and line of communication with the alumnus of the department and conduct relevant activities.
Tasks of the committee:
  1. Establish a strong relationship and line of communication with the alumnus
  2. Have alumni events well thought out and planned far in advance
  3. Follow up after an event has taken place with all participating alumni; send thank you notes and follow-up e-mails
  4. Include alumni on important social and employment related decisions (ones that effect the placement of graduates in different organizations)
  5. Recognize outstanding alumni for their support and dedication to the department/university
  6. Recognize alumni for their contributions to the department/university, their professional accomplishments, and personal milestones
